Knight Property Group - The Capitol Redevelopment
Knight Property Group, one of Scotland’s leading commercial property developers, has worked with ThinkPR since 2009.
In May 2013 ThinkPR was required to secure high profile coverage of the company’s plans to redevelop the Capitol Theatre, a historic landmark building on Union Street, into prime, city centre office space covering 70,000 sqft.
The main aim of the campaign was to convey that, as part of the project, the original art deco features within the building will be restored so that the building would fit with its surroundings while breathing new life into Union Street.
ThinkPR immediately started working with Aberdeen BID to secure support around the much discussed regeneration of Union Street.
Once secured, the team created a precise campaign plan and liaised with national and local print media, local radio, commercial property trade and business publications and websites.
The tailored news release generated widespread coverage and further set Knight Property Group as a leader in the commercial property sector, with the desire to renew a unique venue in the company’s base, Aberdeen.
ThinkPR secured front page coverage in The Press and Journal, interviews on Northsound and Original 106, as well as pieces in The Herald, BBC News, STV Online, Manchester Wired and an opinion piece in Business Insider to name a few.
A number of carefully drafted releases were also issued to the media, including a statement on behalf of Knight Property Group when planning permission for the regeneration was secured, and another when demolition of The Capitol began. Google analytics showed a large spike in visits with 575 page views and 180 unique visitors on the day of the announcement - a huge rise on average visits.
